Your First Visit: What to Expect

Health History Review
At your first visit, we will review your confidential health history so I can get a clear understanding of your visit goals and any health challenges. Sometimes massage should not be administered with certain medical conditions or prescriptions, and the confidential health history allows me to check for these and make sure I am safeguarding your health.

Preparing for the Massage
Once our visit goals are clear, I will leave the room to wash my hands and give you time to change in privacy. Most clients remove all clothes or remain in their underwear, then climb onto the table and cover themselves with the sheet and blanket. I can also work on someone fully clothed if this is your preference. Your privacy is maintained at all times by proper sheet draping techniques. This is very important to me so you feel comfortable and can relax. Note: Even if a client is comfortable without a sheet, I will not do massage without proper draping of private parts.

During the Massage
I will apply a light massage oil that keeps me from pulling your skin and allows me to feel more clearly the muscles under the skin. Throughout the massage, I will check in with you to see if you want more or less pressure. Don't be shy! The more feedback you give me, the better I can tailor the massage to your preferences. Some people want only a light touch, while others prefer deeper pressure.

After the Massage
At the end of the session, I will leave the room to give you privacy to change.  Then I will share with you any significant findings from the therapy, such as holding patterns which may be contributing to muscle pain. When a client has interest, we may explore exercises or therapies that can be done at home for relief.  At all times, I am open to feedback about how to make the massage experience the best for you!
